LAUNCH OF CHEF ANDRE CHIANG’S FIRST COOKBOOK: OCTAPHILOSOPHY

Octaphilosophy: The Eight Elements of Restaurant ANDRÉ was published by Phaidon Press on chef Andre’s 40th birthday in 21 countries worldwide.

On 27 April 2016, Octaphilosophy: The Eight Elements of Restaurant ANDRÉ was published on chef Andre’s 40th birthday in 21 countries worldwide. 

During the book launch party at Good Wood Park hotel Singapore, Chef Andre invited his mother from Taiwan, the entire brigade and all his friends to celebrate the special day with him. Including a blessing video by Chef René Redzepi, which explains the deep friendship between these two well-known young chefs.

Octaphilosophy was written by Lotta Jörgensen, the creative director of Fool magazine with a foreword by Jacques and Laurent Pourcel and photography by Singapore’s famous photographer - Edmond Ho. Explores the 365 days in his restaurant. Including dramatic snacks, precisely crafted dishes and meticulous sweets over each season, and documents the stories and processes behind each dish, Chef Andre shared his unique approach to food combining the technical precision of gastronomy with the French culinary preference for produce, producers and seasonality.
